Frequently
Asked Questions
Here
are some of our most frequently asked questions:
Do you
take children out fishing?
We welcome children, but please keep in mind that this is a 4 hour trip
and that may be too long for some younger children to be cooped up on
a boat. We leave it up to the parents to judge whether or not this trip
is appropriate for your child. We want all of our passengers to be happy.
Do you have special deals?
We do offer a Frequent Fishing Card. Once you take three trips, the
fourth one is on us. This offer does not transfer from year to year.
If you love to fish and plan on spending a lot of time with us, make
sure you ask at the booth about this deal.
What kind of fish are we going to catch?
What we fish for will depend on several variables; winds and
water temperature. On the optimum summer day, we will split the trip
up and bottom fish for fluke and flounder and then go jigging for blues.
We will also fish for stripers if they are around.
What do we use for bait (and is it included)?
If bottom fishing, we will use either clams or sand eels. We
use diamond jigs for blues.
Do we need to rent a rod & reel?
No, we provide you with all the equipment you need. You are
welcome to bring your own rod, but keep in mind there is no casting
allowed.
Can we keep our fish and will you clean it?
You can keep all the legal sized fish you catch. Our mate will
clean the fish for a nominal charge.
Aside
from the ticket price, are there any other fees, such as buying a fishing
license?
We have a pool for catching the largest fish. It’s entirely
optional and entry is $1.00. Keep in mind that mates work for tips,
so if you enjoy your trip, please let him know (generally 15% is the
norm). As of right now, (2008), no individual license is required in
Massachusetts.
Do you serve food?
We sell soda, water & snacks on board but you are welcome
to bring a small cooler with your own food and drink. We do allow beer
on board, but no hard liquor.
What else should we bring?
Keep in mind that it is always at least 15° cooler on
the boat, so bring some warm clothes, wear sensible shoes and sunglasses,
and bring a camera.
Do
you accept credit cards?
Yes, we accept Mastercard & Visa.
How much does a trip cost?
2009 ticket prices are:
$25.00 Children 12 & under
$35.00 Adults
$40.00 Night trip (limited to adults only)
How
do we get to the boat and where do we park?
We are located on MacMillan Pier right in the center of Provincetown
(see map). Although we do not provide parking, there is a municipal
lot abutting the pier, a private lot at Provincetown Marina (next pier
over) and another large, private lot 1⁄2 block from the pier on
Bradford Street.
What
else is there to do in Provincetown?
If you’re just coming for the day, we recommend that you take
a stroll down Commercial Street, have something to eat at one of our
great restaurants and shop, shop, shop. People watching is one of the
most enjoyable things to do in Provincetown and it doesn’t cost
a dime. We also recommend a tour on the Provincetown Trolley, which
leaves from in front of Town Hall.
